Christ Apostolic University College Students Representative Council (SRC) in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for the Kwadaso Electoral Area, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko on Friday 28th October Organized a Breast cancer screening exercise at the University as part of the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.
The Women Commissioner (WOCOM) of the SRC Miss Olives led this exercise backed by the entire SRC. The neighboring school, Methodist Technical Institute fully participated in this programme.
Some comments from students were that the screening exercise was very educative and helpful.
“it made us aware of the dangers associated with breast (an individual can lose her breasts which would deform her forever)”
Speaking with the Senior Nurse at the exercise she said:
“Anything cancer-related doesn’t have a good end”. Breast cancer can cost you your life if care is not taken.
She emphasized that ladies should frequently examine their breasts four days after menstruation to check for lumps since one can overcome breast cancer by early detection with the right medication prescribed by a doctor/health officer and regular checkups.
Breast screening is a free project dedicated to helping young men and women. It is advisable to check and get your breast examined to avoid future losses. It’s better to check now than be sorry. Try as much as possible to educate and invite friends and family to get examined as well.
