Welcome to Christ Apostolic University College, Kumasi, Ghana. The University College has come a long way, gradually increasing its students population from all over the continent, and with very hardworking and committed staff.
The Office of the Registrar constitutes the swivel around which the University College revolves. The Office is keen in providing appropriate and timely support for policy implementation by keeping updates with administrative trends to continuously provide a conducive environment for teaching, learning and research.
The Office is committed to finding innovative ways to support and enhance the academic enterprise to deliver on its strategic mandate. Under the President, the Registrar serves as Chief Operating Officer, leading the University College and ensuring the interpretation and implementation of University rules, regulations and policies.
As the Chief Operating Officer, the Registrar performs the following functions, among others;
1. Serves as Secretary to the Chancellor and the Council as well as any other committee as may be determined by the Statutes; and providing policy options for the consideration of the Council;
2. Serves as the custodian of University College documents and the Seal;
3. Coordinates the administration and implementation of the conditions of service for staff and provide appropriate recommendations on same;
4. Coordinates the planning and implementation of academic as well as the human resource activities of the University;
5. Provides oversight responsibilities for University functions and ceremonies such as;
a. Matriculation, congregation, investiture ceremonies;
b. Admissions and registration of students
6. Liaises with the University Management Information Systems (MIS) for the management of staff and students’ records;
7. Serves as the Returning Officer for University elections;
8. Processes applications for appointment, promotions and other related staff matters;
9. Makes recommendations to the President for appropriate action on the following:
• Grant of incentives and awards, both monetary and nonmonetary,
• Designation, reassignment and transfer of administrative staff,
• Settlement of work-related complaints and grievances;
10. Convenes periodic meetings of Heads of Divisions and staff to stimulate participatory and transparent administration;
12. Ensures the implementation of the University Strategic Plan as well as all other plans; and performs any other duties as may be assigned by the Council and President.
