Professor Godfred Matthew Yaw Owusu is an Associate Professor with the Department of Accounting, University of Ghana Business School.
He holds a PhD in Accounting from Putra Business School, Universiti Putra Malaysia, an MPhil in Accounting and a Bsc. in Administration (Accounting option) from University of Ghana.
He teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in different specializations including Financial Accounting, Public Sector Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Research Techniques in Accounting and Finance among others.
His research interests are in the area of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Financial Economics, Behavioural Finance, Accounting & Business Education. Godfred has good working knowledge in the use of Structural Equation Modeling techniques and its application to Accounting and Business Research (using both co-variance based and partial least square techniques). He also specializes in Panel Data Analysis (Micro and Macro panels) and has a number of papers published in very reputable Journals with good impact factors. He has co-authored several publications with prominent scholars including Prof. Law Siong Hook, a very prominent professor in panel data analysis.
Godfred serves on several boards and committees of University of Ghana and has been involved in the development and execution of different projects for the University. Beyond the University, he has been active in providing crucial consultancy services for reputable organizations including the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Taxation Ghana (CITG), Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Bloomberg Foundation.
He has also served as an external assessor and/or examiner for other sister institutions including the University of Cape Coast, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, University of Professional Studies, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, Takoradi Technical University, Koforidua Technical University among others.
