Theology is an academic discipline and a field of study and teaching. It covers a wide area of disciplines in a university course or in training for the Holy Ministry such as Biblical Languages, Church History, Homiletics, Systematic Theology, Christian Ethics, Old Testament History, New Testament History, Study of Religions, Christian Doctrine and others.
Theology denotes teaching about God and His relation to the world from creation to the consummation. Theology is related to life and according to Thomas Aquinas, it is taught by God, teaches of God, and leads to God. It was regarded as the climax and co-ordinating study of all that is and thus “the Queen of the Sciences”.
It is engaged in the traditional form of academic training in Theology for the ministry of various Christian Churches. As the queen of the sciences, it can be accommodated by many academic disciplines and its marketability in the world of work is not in doubt.
